Why isn't my charger charging when set to solar?

There might be several reasons why your charger is not charging when solar power is enabled. We recommend performing some checks to ensure that your solar configuration is correct within your app. Here are a few things to consider:

  1. Check CT Clamp Connection: The CT clamp, also known as a current clamp, is a sensor that monitors the power flow in your home to detect excess solar energy availability. There are different models of CT clamps available, such as CT2000 and CT3000. By default, the app is configured for CT2000. To verify your CT Clamp model number, check the number located on the side of the CT Clamp. If your sensor displays a value different than CT2000, please contact our Support team. We will be able to adjust the configuration in our database accordingly.

  2. Verify Sufficient Solar Power Output: Ensure that your solar panels are producing at least 6 amps of solar excess. This minimum power threshold needs to be available for the charger to trigger the charging process. If the energy produced by your solar panels falls below this threshold, the charger won't be able to initiate the charging process.

  3. For the charger to operate, the Home battery must be fully charged to 100% with approximately 1.72 kWh of spare capacity available for the charger.

By checking the CT Clamp connection and ensuring sufficient solar power output, you can troubleshoot the issue and identify if any adjustments or support from our team are required to enable charging with solar power.
